Wingback seamlessly integrates with your payment gateway(s) and supports various payment methods, enabling you to efficiently process payments and manage customer billing information. By accessing all payment information from within our Customer Portal, you can easily issue refunds and credits, eliminating the need for manual lookups and working charges in payment gateways like Stripe.

Payment Gateways

Wingback currently supports the following payment gateways:

  • Stripe (Default)
  • Authorize.net

We continuously work on supporting additional payment methods and gateways according to customer needs. If you’d like support for a specific gateway or payment method, let us know: hi@wingback.com.

Payment Methods

1. Credit Card

Supported in: Stripe, Authorize.net

Wingback supports all major credit cards through Stripe and Authorize.net, with Stripe being the default gateway. Billing information and payment details are collected in a provider-agnostic way using Wingback.js and our Billing Portal. Please refer to our developer guide on how to implement the collection of billing and payment information into your sign-up flow and application.

Additionally, you can securely collect a customers’ credit card information manually in the Customer Portal, for example, if you collect payment information over the phone.

Refer to your payment gateway’s rates for an overview of the fees involved in credit card payments (Stripe).

2. SEPA

Supported in: Stripe

You can charge your European customers via SEPA. SEPA payments are disabled by default. Once enabled, customers can select it as payment method when entering their payment information using Wingback.js. We will collect & manage the SEPA authorization via Stripe and charge the customer when an invoice is generated. SEPA payments are generally cheaper, but take a few days to clear. Please refer to Stripe for an overview of the fees incurred by SEPA payments.

3. Manual Payments & Bank Transfers

At any time, you can set a customer to manual payments in the Customer Portal. Wingback will generate invoices for that customer but won’t issue payment requests through a gateway. This is useful for enterprise customers paying via bank transfer or with complex negotiated contracts. Upon receiving payment, add it to their balance in Wingback for automatic reconciliation with their current balance and invoices. This can also be used to add one-time payments to customers paying through a payment gateway, for example in case of deposits or service charges that you manually invoiced. With Wingback as your single source of truth, manage all payment and billing information from one place.

Multiple Payment Gateways

Wingback supports a wide variety of payment gateways and methods in parallel, such as a combination of credit card, bank transfers, SEPA payments, and separate gateways for customers from certain geographies to access better rates. Being payment gateway agnostic offers several benefits, including offers increased flexibility, wider payment method coverage, potentially better rates for certain geographies, and reduces dependency on a single provider.

Wingback internally supports charging customers through different entities, providing even more flexibility and options for managing billing and payments, but this is currently not generally available to all customers. Please reach out to us should you require that functionality, and we’ll be happy to assist: hi@wingback.com.
