Billing Portal Overview

After they open Wingback’s billing portal inside your SaaS product, customers can see their current subscription, its price, and billing cycle on the left part of the interface. If a usage-based component is part of the customer’s plan, the date for calculating the final amount is also displayed. Below, customers can find buttons for updating or canceling their plan (unless you deactivated this option in settings) and a breakdown of the upcoming invoice. If their plan is priced on a per-feature basis, a detailed breakdown of all invoice line items, including their price and the pricing model, is provided.

On the right side, the payment method section shows either a credit card or manual payment method. Customers can view and update their billing information, including their name, email address, and billing address. Below, they find a list of invoices, dates, amounts, and invoice statuses.

Invoices & Receipts

In the invoice list, customers can click on the three dots to view their receipt. The receipt states the payment amount, date, method, and purpose. Customers can copy the receipt link to share it or close the receipt.

Self-serve Upgrades & Unit Selection

If they click on “Update Plan,” customers can upgrade to any plan available on the pricing page associated with their current plan. Please note that self-service upgrades must be enabled in settings for your customers to be able to use this function.

In the Plan Upgrade View, customers can choose between billing cycles on top of the portal (provided the plans displayed have more than one billing cycle associated with them), and prices are updated accordingly.

If per-unit features are part of a plan, and the option for customers to adapt unit numbers themselves has been activated, they can select how many units of a specific feature they want to purchase on this page. Once they click on “Choose Plan,” they have selected the plan.

Cancel Subscription

Upon clicking the cancel plan button, customers see a pop–up window and can choose to close the window or cancel their subscription to this particular plan. After canceling, they can select a different plan or reactivate their previous subscription. Please note that self-service upgrades must be enabled in settings for your customers to be able to use this function.
